Stamping on Cork

Yes you can stamp directly on cork!  This is stamped with Black Stazon and then colored with markers!  I sponged the edges and mounted it on scallop circle.
I hope you have SU's Cork sheets on your Wish list and will give them a try!  I'd love to see what you do with them.

Embossing on cork

Yes you can emboss on Cork!  This butterfly was inked with craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder!  I love the look.. NOTE>>>If you hold your heat gun on it tooooo long it will smoke like crazy!  and leave burnt marks... Not sure that's a technique.
Thanks again to my friend Linda Heller for sharing all the uses with Cork!

More Cork Samples

This cute card was done with some of the cork that I ran through the Big shot and My Circle die.  I mounted the Fleurettes II found on page 198.  THese handmade crocheted flowers and a delicate touch to any project.  I topped it off with the "IN Color" polkadot brads.

Did you Know?

Did you know that Stampin' Up! carried "Cork"?  Look on page 216 of the Idea Book and Catalog.  Pack of 6 sheets 6"x13" for just $9.95   They cut like butter!  With scissors, your table top paper cutter and of course with your BIG SHOT!  At the last Tips and Techniques club all projects were made with cork.  Thanks to my Friend and amazing Stamping Friend Linda Heller I was able to come up with these projects.  This one is cut with the big shot and the fun flowers die.  Sponged edges with Soft Suede  ink and sponge daubers, then put a layer of crystal effects on the cork and allowed it to dry before assembling.
The cork Flower is mounted on the fancy favor box that can be easily cut with your Big Shot!  Try some.. If you don't have a Stampin Up! demonstrator I'd love to order you some so you can get started creating.  Stay tuned  More ideas to do with "Cork"

Yummy Corn Salad

Even though our corn crop has not been the best this year, first the flood, then the crows, then the deer, and to top it all off the raccoons finished it off.  We did get some to freeze and eat but not like we'd hoped.  But there is always can corn....lol and that is what we used for this yummy salad.  The set that is used is the Best Friends forever set  love love love the vine that is in this set.  Crumb cake and black are some of my fav combos!
Thanks to my friend Barbara for this recipe

Big Shot Dress

This is a Dress that was on display at Convention that was appliqued using Material cut with the big Shot and the butterfly die.  It started out as a T-Shirt! I thought it was really clever and it is some of our new SU Fabric!  I don't sew but if I did I would make one.  Give it a try!

Group Swap sample

Our Demonstrator group that attended this years SU convention, received the stampset "Easy Events" as one of Four sets that were in our convention bag.  We each took an image and did swaps.  this is mine.  I used our wonderful water color paper and colored birds with blender pens and classic ink.  The wings were colored in with the matching markers for a more bold look.  I used my color coach to come up with the color scheme.  A must have tool in my opinion.  Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you soon at my stamping events.

More Altered Lighting

A couple of post ago I featured a Lamp Shade that was altered with Paper Flowers.  Here are a couple more examples of altered Lighting.  Each of these were featured at the Stampin' Up! Home office on our tour that we took while at Convention.
Notice behind the lamp shade at the flowers that are on the wall.  Yep Flowers that were just stuck on the wall.  You can take your SU card stock to your paint store and get a true SU color and then when you use SU card stock it will match!  One of my favorite things about SU is that EVERYTHING Coordinates

Layer Up Buttons

My Friend and Amazing Demo Linda Heller was a presenter at Convention and Her presentation was amazing.  It was all on buttons and the stampset Button Buddies!  This picture is of the way she show you can layer up your puttens to make your Favorite Accessory.  I am in love with this idea.. Get out your punches and other embellishments and layer up your buttons.  I'd love to see what combos you come up with.  Thank You Linda for being such a great inspiration to me!

Have a wonderful Week

I love having this "saying" in a stamp!  What a great way to send a "Just because" card.  This is in the Sweetly Said Set found on page 158 of the IBC.  I received this one free this year at convention for promotions in my group!  I was thrilled.  It is a set of 6 and has some unusal sayings!  I seem to have to have all the word stamps!  This card we made at Tips and technique class.  It showcases the Designer paper Paisley Petals.  It is beautiful!  Every sheet, both sides!    The flower is made from the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle punch, the Fancy Flower Punch and our Paper flower (that come already to use) found on page 198 of the Catalog! in the center of the flower is the 5/8 Jumbo Brad!  Perfect for this flower.  We misted the flower with Stampin' Mist ( it's always handy and also makes your flowers scented)  Wadded it up in to a ball and them allowed to dry!  After it's dry open it up and it all wrinkly and you have this look.  I love it.  Do you?  This is a Different kind of fold but for some reason when I took pics I didn't show that.  I'll feature that in a later post.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping buy.
Remember if you need supplies, and don't have a SU demo I'd love to be yours.  Email me inkpadjan@gmail.com or visit my website www.janburnett.stampinup.net where you can order 24/7... Have fun!
